e-Tech Mining simulators help operators to familiarize themselves with the knowledge of the controls and learn the proper procedures of operation before training in real machines. The simulated environment provides a safe place to learn where the operator can make mistakes without causing accidents, damage to equipment or personnel, which could be fatal.

Mining Truck Simulator

The Mining Truck simulator from e-Tech Simulation puts the operator at the controls of a modern heavy hauler at work in a typical mine site, in interaction with a simulated Electric Rope Shovel.

You can either set up a pedal for retarding, or use a separate lever for retarding instead. In this way, you can reproduce the functionality of operator controls in a wide variety of mining trucks. There are even keyboard function keys and mouse controls to change the point of view during the simulation.

There are nine "Simulation Modules" of increasing difficulty, starting with Controls Familiarization. The final module, Complete Haul Cycle, combines loading, hauling, and dumping. A simulated Electric Rope Shovel is built right in, to help teach truck spotting interaction. Key "Performance Indicators" measure how quickly and how carefully the simulated work is performed including execution time, maximum driving speed, and the occurrence of termination faults such as improper gear changing and hoist control. In this way, the feedback is diagnostic, instead of just a consolidated pass/fail score.

Off-Highway Truck Simulator

The off-Highway Truck simulator from e-Tech Simulation puts the operator at the controls of a modern "rock truck" model 777, rated at 100 short tons, at work in a typical quarry, in interaction with a simulated Wheel Loader. You can even use the keyboard function keys and mouse controls during the simulation to change the point of view!

There are six "Simulation Modules" of increasing difficulty, starting with Controls Familiarization. The final module, Complete Haul Cycle, combines loading, hauling, and dumping. A simulated Wheel Loader is built right in, to help teach truck spotting interaction. Key "Performance Indicators" measure how quickly and how carefully the simulated work is performed including execution time, maximum driving speed, and the occurrence of termination faults such as improper gear changing and hoist control. In this way, the feedback is diagnostic, instead of just a consolidated pass/fail score.

Drill Jumbo

The Drill Jumbo simulator from e-Tech Simulation puts the operator at the controls of a modern twin boom Drill Jumbo in an underground mining tunnel (drift). You can even change the viewpoint during the simulation at the touch of a button!

There are six "Simulation Modules" of increasing difficulty. Early Simulation Modules present a single hold to be drilled at a designated position and orientation. Later Simulation Modules require drilling complete rounds and cross-cutting in wider drifts. Key "Performance Indicators" measure how quickly and how carefully the simulated work is performed, including execution time, drilling precision (errors in position and orientation), and the number of collisions. In this way, the feedback is diagnostic, instead of just a consolidated pass/fail score.

Electric Rope Shovel Simulator

The Electric Rope Shovel simulator from e-Tech Simulation puts the operator at the controls of an electric rope shovel at work in a typical mine site, in interaction with a simulated Mining Truck. You can even use the keyboard function keys and mouse controls during the simulation to change the point of view.

There are eight "Simulation Modules" of increasing difficulty, starting with Controls Familiarization. The final modules combine elements of dipper fill at the rock face, and cab-side or blind-side truck loading. A simulated Mining truck is built right in, to help teach truck spotting interaction. Key "Performance Indicators" measure how quickly and how carefully the simulated work is performed including execution time, dipper fill, boom jacking, time spent in hoist limit and crowd/retract limit slowdown conditions, and the occurrence of collisions. In this way, the feedback is diagnostic, instead of just a consolidated pass/fail score.

Hydraulic Excavator Simulator

The Hydraulic Excavator simulator from e-Tech Simulation puts the operator at the controls of a modern hydraulic excavator at work in a typical construction site, in interaction with an articulated dump truck. Both SAE and Backhoe-Loader joystick patterns are available. You can even use the keyboard function keys and mouse controls during the simulation to change the point of view.

There are a total of twelve "Simulation Modules" of increasing difficulty, starting with Controls Familiarization, followed by exercises to coordinate the control of the boom, stick, swing, and bucket. Intermediate modules feature trench crossing using "boom jacking", and climbing/descending benches. After that comes the digging, trenching, and truck loading modules, at grade and from benches, with both simulated dirt and boulders. Along the way, you will also learn to spot trucks. For the final module, build ramps to climb benches.

For each Simulation Module, key "Performance Indicators" measure how quickly and how carefully the simulated work is performed, including execution time, truck loading accuracy, the maximum tilt angle when the excavator climbs/descends benches, and the number of "slams" that sound when the bucket is over-opened or over-closed. In this way, the feedback is diagnostic, instead of just a consolidated pass/fail score.

Wheel Loader Simulator

The Wheel Loader simulator from e-Tech Simulation puts the operator at the controls of a modern wheel loader at work in a typical quarry; in interaction with a simulated off-highway Truck stick-steering and steering wheel steering are available. You can even use the keyboard function keys and mouse controls during the simulation to change the point of view!

There are eight "Simulation Modules" of increasing difficulty, starting with Controls Familiarization and ending with Loading with truck spotting. Key "Performance Indicators" measure how quickly and how carefully the simulated work is performed including execution time and the detection of "slams" that sound and are counted when the bucket is over-opened or over-closed. In this way, the feedback is diagnostic, instead of just a consolidated pass/fail score.
